Regina-area field safety

Know before
you make
the drive.

The Field Bot shares City of Regina field updates and team schedule reminders in Discord. A separate Lightning Bot—in beta—watches for nearby strikes and sends field-specific shelter alerts.

Information only—not a live field-status or lightning feed. The City of Regina page remains the source of record for field conditions.

The field details.
And the next game.

One small bot handles two useful team chores: surfacing field closures and keeping the next game on the radar.

Field status

Closure updates, without the page refresh.

The bot reads the City’s athletic-field status and posts an update to its configured Discord destination when it detects an actionable closure. Re-open notices depend on the deployment settings.

Schedule reminder

A timely nudge before game day.

During the configured season, the bot checks the configured team schedule and can post a roll-call reminder before an upcoming game.

IN BETA

Separate from field-closure notices, the Lightning Bot checks Blitzortung for recent strikes around the monitored Regina-area fields. It filters out stale or repeated feed entries, measures new strikes against each field’s configured radius, and sends field-specific shelter alerts to subscribed Discord channels. Each field has its own timer: new strikes reset that field’s timer, and an all-clear is sent when it expires without another strike.

Monitoring follows configured hours and subscribed days, and skips the window when the Field Bot reports fields closed. Beta overview only—not a live strike map or emergency service. Follow Discord alerts and established safety procedures.

A small, focused workflow

Find the update.
Send the signal.

The bot checks official and league sources, compares what it finds with its saved state, and sends useful changes to Discord.

01

Read the official field page

Field status is retrieved from the City of Regina’s athletic-fields page; the bot is not the source of the status.

02

Check for a meaningful change

Repeated closure notices are suppressed. If the page is ambiguous or its format shifts, the bot has a review fallback.

03

Post to Discord

The configured channel receives the field update. In-season schedule checks can also produce a game reminder.
